2015 NUSGSS Graduate Leaders' Dialogue

NUS Graduate Students' Society is pleased to inform you that we are organizing our first Graduate Leaders' Dialogue for session 2015/16 on 7th December, 2015 from 5:30pm at UTown Auditorium-1. Dinner will be provided.

The NUS Graduate Students’ Society, invites nominations from graduate student representatives from different faculties and departments within NUS to voice out the concerns of current graduate students. This Dialogue, now in its fourth semester running, began as small a sharing session among representatives from various faculties and over the years, it has seen an increasing involvement of faculty staff. This time, we propose to expand the scale of the event and involve a panel of esteemed university administrators. The Dean of Students, A/Prof Tan Teck Koon, will also be among the panel at the dialogue. We believe that together, we can make a difference to the lives of graduate students in NUS.
This dialogue aims to provide a platform for new connections and collaborations to be built among the departments, and for brainstorming new ideas about improving graduate student life. This is an effort by Graduate Students' Society to recognize issues faced by the graduate student community and ensure all graduate students be heard through their respective faculty or department representatives to the officiating management at top.
For this year, we call out for student opinions and representations for the concerns involving Accommodation & Accessibility, Student Welfare, and Academic & Non-academic Activities and any other issue that our graduate leaders think are important to be discussed with a panel of esteemed university administrators. Graduate Student Leaders nomination open to Graduate Students at NUS include:
-- Students pursuing Doctoral Degree Programmes
-- Students pursuing Master's Degree Programmes by Coursework and by Research
-- Student pursuing Graduate Diploma

Please note that registration closes on 3rd December, 2015.
Student in attendance of at least two dialogue sessions in a year, will be awarded Certificate of Appreciation for participating in increasing the graduate student life value at NUS.
We are also conducting a small pre-event survey regarding the issues faced by the graduate students so that they can be raised to the relevant authorities during the dialogue.
