Trip to Bintan Island

GSS is back again with another exciting trip tailor made for you. Two days trip in one of most beautiful island in Indonesia, Bintan Island! If you are willing to experience something different after this semester, sign up with your friends and start packing!

Date & Time: Morning of 12th to Evening of 13th May 2012, Weekend.
Cost: S$110 for NUS postgraduate students,S$130 for others.

Price includes:
Reurn Ferry between Singapore and Tanjung Pinang
Return Coach Transfer between NUS and Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (including ferry tax)
Return land transfer between Ferry Terminal and Resort in Bintan
1 set lunch at the first day
1 night Accommodation (Bintan Cabana Beach Resort, twin sharing) with breakfast

       Population is the foundation of civilization, and it also brings pressure to the modern society. Therefore, immigration, while bringing prosperity and diversity, may pose as a challenge in some countries. On the other hand, new immigrants often find it difficult to form an identity and to integrate with local community.

In the seminar, Prof. Kuo Chen-Yu will illustrate the relationship among population, immigration and development of Singapore Society. Prof. Kuo will also illustrate the influence of new immigration policy for different immigrants. Finally, Prof. Kuo will discuss the importance of identity for new immigrants to integrate themselves into local community.

Hi-Tech Entrepreneurship Sharing Program

To drive the development of entrepreneurship in long term in Singapore and China, Entrepreneurship and Career Development of SGCSSA has launched a project named “Hi-Tech Entrepreneurship Sharing Program” in Nov 2011.

The joined entrepreneurial teams can benefit from this project including:
1) Promoting and Marketing support in Singapore and China;
2) Collaboration and knowledge sharing with other elites;
3) Seek venture capital and potential collaboration with Government (Singapore and China).


To anticipate this project, entrepreneurial teams need to submit their business plans, their products or services description, newspaper or media report. Once audited and approved by SGCSSA, we will schedule a supporting plan together.

Food Trip is a serial of events in which GSS will lead NUS graduates to look for different cuisines all over the Singapore. It’s also a good opportunity for us to make new friends and share our experiences among themselves.
