GSS "Good Food & Nutrition Habits" Seminar

Published Date

Dear Graduate Friends,

Mid-terms have just finished and we know, the exam time has been stressful to you. Given the highly demanding nature of our studies, we tend to neglect proper nutrition and fail to practice healthy nutrition habits. It is also partly because we aren't aware of how to cope up with our studies and lab work along with maintaining a healthy diet. This has negative effects on our bodies and the effects range from affecting our internal metabolism to our external beauty!

But, Don't worry!

Gradaute Students' Society (GSS) brings up for you a seminar, "GOOD FOOD & NUTRITION HABITS", by a well-known expert in the field of human diet and nutrition. This seminar will give us an opportunity to learn some of the effective healthy food habits and how we can practice them along with the highly demanding and stressful graduate studies.

So, come and join us in learning the simple techniques of maintaining a healthy diet and keeping ourselves healthier!

In order for this seminar to be more fruitful, we would highly appreciate if you could help us understand your nutrition concerns. For this, please click on the link below and complete a short survey. This will help us in addressing all your issues during the limited time we have.

2015 NUSGSS Graduate Leaders' Dialogue

Published Date

Dear Graduate Students,

NUS Graduate Students' Society is pleased to inform you that we are organizing our first Graduate Leaders' Dialogue for session 2015/16 on 7th December, 2015 from 5:30pm at UTown Auditorium-1. Dinner will be provided.

Join us as a student representative, an audience or voice out through the 1-min survey below!

The NUS Graduate Students’ Society, invites nominations from graduate student representatives from different faculties and departments within NUS to voice out the concerns of current graduate students. This Dialogue, now in its fourth semester running, began as small a sharing session among representatives from various faculties and over the years, it has seen an increasing involvement of faculty staff. This time, we propose to expand the scale of the event and involve a panel of esteemed university administrators. The Dean of Students, A/Prof Tan Teck Koon, will also be among the panel at the dialogue. We believe that together, we can make a difference to the lives of graduate students in NUS.

This dialogue aims to provide a platform for new connections and collaborations to be built among the departments, and for brainstorming new ideas about improving graduate student life. This is an effort by Graduate Students' Society to recognize issues faced by the graduate student community and ensure all graduate students be heard through their respective faculty or department representatives to the officiating management at top.

For this year, we call out for student opinions and representations for the concerns involving  Accommodation & Accessibility, Student Welfare, and Academic & Non-academic Activities and any other issue that our graduate leaders think are important to be discussed with a panel of esteemed university administrators. Graduate Student Leaders nomination open to Graduate Students at NUS include:

-- Students pursuing Doctoral Degree Programmes

-- Students pursuing Master's Degree Programmes by Coursework and by Research

                -- Student pursuing Graduate Diploma

We strongly encourage you to nominate yourself to attend the NUS Graduate Student Leaders' Dialogue.  Submit your nomination via email to  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Please note that registration closes on 3rd December, 2015.
